SCUM

How do I connect to the SCUM server?

Start SCUM, choose “Play” and search the server browser for “Nerux”. There the server is called “Nerux EU - PvP - 2x Loot - Easy PvE - No Offline Raids”. Alternatively use “Direct connect” with the address 138.201.226.233:7779.

When is the SCUM server wiped?

There is no fixed schedule. A wipe only happens when a major SCUM update requires it, and then with an announcement on Discord. Until then, what you build stays.

What is different on the Nerux SCUM server compared to the default?

It is a PvP server with easier PvE: puppets have 70 % health and move a little slower, armed NPCs sit at the lowest level and deal 60 % damage. Loot turns up twice as often, you can respawn in a sector or shelter after 60 instead of 240 seconds, and a death only costs you 5 % of your fame. You see your squad members' names above their heads.

How does the offline raid protection work?

Once every member of a squad is offline, their base is protected after 30 minutes, for up to 24 hours. The server enforces this itself. Offline raids are also against the rules, even if someone finds a gap.

What happens if I log out after dying?

Then your character is gone. SCUM marks it for deletion when you die and only lifts that when you respawn. Log out on the death screen and you start over as a new prisoner next time. So: respawn first, then leave.

When does the SCUM server restart?

Once a day for the backup: at 06:00 Berlin time, 07:00 in summer. A warning appears on screen fifteen minutes before, ten minutes before and just before.

Where can I see who killed whom?

On Discord in the #scum-killfeed channel, with name, weapon and distance but never positions. The all-time standings with kills and K/D are on the server page.

How many players fit on the SCUM server?

32. The server is free, without a password and without paid advantages.

General

What is Nerux Gameservers?

Nerux Gameservers runs German game servers in a data centre in Germany (Hetzner), protected against DDoS and with low pings across Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Live right now: two Rust servers (Small Weekly for solo/duo, Medium Monthly for teams of up to 8) and a SCUM server with PvP and offline raid protection. A Minecraft cluster for the Java Edition is in the works.

Do the servers cost anything?

No. Every Nerux server is free to play, with no password and no paid advantages. If you want to support the project you can do so voluntarily through the support link. There is no pay-to-win on any server.

Where do I get help or report a rule breach?

On Discord. That is where you reach the admin team, ask questions and report breaches. Reports need evidence: a clip for cheating, an unedited screenshot for chat incidents.

Where are the servers and what is the ping like?

In a data centre in Germany (Hetzner), with DDoS protection. For players in Germany, Austria and Switzerland that means short routes; from the rest of Europe the ping is usually still perfectly playable.

Which rules apply on all servers?

Respectful behaviour, no hate speech, no cheating, no dupes, and reports go through a ticket rather than public chat. All rules are on the rules page of each game.

Can I get a server for another game?

Ask on Discord. Another game gets added when someone actually wants to play it and we can monitor the server for the long run. We only promise availability once we are checking it.

How can I support Nerux?

Join the Discord, play, and tell others about the servers. Optionally you can support the project financially through 'Support / Buy Me a Coffee'. There are no pay-to-win perks.
